As we navigate the evolving impact of COVID-19 in our community, our highest concern continues to be the health and well-being of everyone who visits our cleaners. Comet Cleaners remains open as an essential business because we are providing services that are needed by the community. At this time, all locations are open. However, business hours are subject to change. To confirm our hours of operation, please visit www.cometsatx.com/locations. Our home/office pickup and delivery services are continuing routes as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow recommendations from local, state, and federal authorities.
The CDC has issued advisories for running errands, including advising people to stay home if sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19, and wearing a cloth face covering when out in public. San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg signed an addendum to his Eighth Emergency Health Declaration adopting Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff’s Executive Order NW-10. Following government mandates, Comet Cleaners San Antonio has developed policies that require the use of face coverings when entering the store.
For those who are leaving their home for essential activities, Drive Thru Services are available at five of our 10 stores. For locations that do not offer a drive thru service, we will happily pick up and/or deliver garments from/to your car with our Curbside Service. Please call your nearest store to make arrangements for pickup once you have arrived.
If it is more convenient, Comet Cleaners can pick up and drop off garments at your doorstep at no additional charge. Call our Delivery Concierge at 210-332-3302 for more information about our services areas and delivery schedules. You can also sign up online using our Customer Connect Portal.
Customer Service Associates have been advised to wash their hands at least once an hour, especially after handling dirty clothes. They have also been made aware of the use of face masks, disposable gloves, and additional special precautions when handling garments with bodily fluids.
Counters and computers are protected with cashier shields. Common areas are being wiped down frequently. Any employees showing signs of illness before their shift are being sent home so they can seek medical treatment as needed.
Based on information from the CDC and WHO, it is believed that professional drycleaning and laundry operations can help contain the spread of the virus because the heat and chemistry of the professional cleaning process is known to kill germs.
Comet Cleaners is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our stores are closed Sunday.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and follow guidelines set by local, state and federal authorities. We will update our customers as more information becomes available and closely monitor the situation for any additional actions needed. Thank you for your understanding during this time, and as always, we appreciate our customers and community.
